AAPI Women Lead launches the first Asian, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander community-driven research and education institute that is survivor-centered to end violence against our communities.

Since 2018, we have built a base, developed and implemented our Intergenerational Participatory Action Research project; developed a strong national track record; and established ourselves as pioneering thought leaders and community-based collaborators. We are now building out our work-centering research and education to advance advocacy and liberation.

Research & Education

Since AAPI Women Lead’s beginnings in 2018, we have worked to do research and educate our communities on racial and gender-violence. Our work has included:

Fundraised to pay researchers
197 research participants across the US and its territories
Researcher trainings on existing frameworks and literature on racial and gender violence against ANHPI communities; qualitative research methods; data collection and data analysis
Workshops on the histories of violence, transformative justice, and more for 300 participants.

The efforts of AAPI Women Lead are layered, integrated and reflective of the asian diaspora. Developing our approach has taken hundreds of hours of rigorous and detailed planning. At The R.E.A.L. Institute we want to create a framework to affect deep systemic change within our communities, society at large and the world.
